The exhaust features electronic valves which, in conjunction with the optional Akrapovič Sound Kit, can be fully controlled by the driver. Without the kit, the valves are automatically controlled by the car. With closed valves, the 911 gets a deeper tone without being louder. With open valves, the sound transforms into an exhilarating racing sound, complete with exciting crackles. Thanks to clever engineering, the annoying "drone" effect inside the cabin has been effectively eliminated.
